Jyotirindra Moitra জ্যোতিরিন্দ্র মৈত্র jyotirindra maitra biography জ্যোতিরিন্দ্রনাথ মৈত্র (নভেম্বর ১১, ১৯১১ - অক্টোবর ২৬, ১৯৭৭; বঙ্গাব্দ অগ্রহায়ণ ৪, ১৩১৮ - কার্তিক ১১, ১৩৮৪) ছিলেন বিংশ শতাব্দীর অন্যতম প্রধান আধুনিক বাঙালি কবি, লেখক, গায়ক। তিনি বাংলা কাব্যে আধুনিকতার পথিকৃতদের মধ্যে অন্যতম। তিনি বাংলার একজন প্রখ্যাত কবি ও গায়ক। তিনি অনেক উদীপনামূলক দেশপ্রেমের গান লিখে বিখ্যাত হয়েছেন। সংগীতের শিক্ষক হিসেবেও তিনি খ্যাতিমান। তিনি একাধারে অনেক কাজ করে গেছেন । প্রবাদ প্রতীম ঋত্বিক ঘটক এর ছবি 'মেঘে ঢাকা। তারা র তিনিই ছিলেন সংগীত পরিচালক। মনফকিরা এর প্রকাশিত বই 'জ্যোতিরিন্দ্র মৈত্র লিখন সমগ্র ১ এর মুখবন্ধ থেকেই তার সম্বন্ধে লেখা তুলে। "ভারতের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির প্রযত্নে বিশ শতকের তিরিশের দশকের শেষে ভারতীয় সংস্কৃতিতে গণচেতনার বিকাশ সৃষ্টিশীল কিছু মানুষজনকে ভিন্ন এক জীবনভাবনায় প্রাণিত করেছিল। আর তার জেরেই গণজীবনের বিভিন্ন স্তরকে বহুমাত্রিক আলোয় ও সফলতায় তারা প্রকাশ করতে পেরেছিলেন। আজও তা আমাদের হৃদয়। মন ও চেতনাকে ছুয়ে যায়। তাদের মধ্যে অনেকে আজ আর জীবিত নেই, শরীরী মৃত্যুর আগেই অনেকের মৃত্যু । হয়েছিল মনেরঅনেকে। থেমে গিয়েছিলেন অবসাদে।। যে গুটিকয়েক মানুষ কোন দিন থামেন নি, মন যাদের বরাবর সজাগ ও সচেতন ছিল, ঐ বিশ্বাসে ও অনুভবে। যাঁরা জীবনের সঙ্গে জড়িয়ে নিয়েছিলেন তাদের কৃত্যআমৃত্যু যাঁরা পথ হেঁটেছেন, হেঁটেছেন মাথা উঁচু করে । জ্যোতিরিন্দ্রনাথ মৈত্র তাদের একজন। তার বিখ্যাত প্রবন্ধ ও কবিতাগুলির মধ্যে বটুকদা ও ঘাসফুল বেশি পরিচিত। তিনি ১৯৭৭ সালের ২৬শে অক্টোবর মৃত্যুবরণ করেন। The multi-faceted genius of Rabindra Sangeet doyen and composer Jyotirindra Nath Moitra, who scored music in Ritwik Ghatak's acclaimed Meghe Dhaka Tara, is one aspect that has long been the subject of many 'addas' in the Bengali community. One of the capital's oldest social-cultural organisations, Karolbagh Bangiya Samsad celebrated the birth centenary of Jyotirindra where the Bengali community got an opportunity to relish his works that spanned across various genres. Born in 1912, Jyotirindra came into prominence during the Bengal famine of 1942 when he came together with like-minded associates and composed songs in protest against the countless deaths due to starvation. His contemporaries were no less than the illustrious Suchitra Mitra, Salil Chowdhury and Benoy Roy among others.
